SmartRunners play an integral role to empower a system in which there is an extreme interplay of speed and precision. Like, for example, In the middle of an automobile manufacturerâs assembly line, wherein robots are running at full speed to connect car body panels. With the help of SmartRunners they check, grasp, position, and weld the target jobs very precisely even at very high speeds. This new light section sensor provides application-specific profile measurement with integrated evaluation in a compact housing which renders it to be very useful for complicated and high speed systems.
1) Combination of light section sensor and 2-D vision sensor
The use of LEDâs for the illumination of the integrated Camera makes this device more efficient to record error images and read data matrix codes for easy configuration.
2) Easy commissioning with teach-in and data matrix control codes
On board Teach-in buttons makes the customization of the specific application more convenient without need of a PC or special expertise. The alternate method for initial or reparmeterization is available through the use of Data matrix control codes.
3) Application-specific evaluation integrated directly in the sensor
Unlike other light section sensors, the user receives no raw data that has to be further evaluated. The sensor consist of digital outputs that helps the user to directly apply them to specific requirements or applications.

This system consists a state of art positioning sensors of P+F which shows pin point positioning accuracy in 3-axis. Each axis is operated by a sensor working on a different principles or technologies to provide Industrial positioning systems for virtually any kind of positioning challenge. Positioning Sensors can work flawlessly in dust and dirty environments.
The 3 types of sensors used in this ASRS system for positioning are

Most modern AGVs employ inductive energy coupling. Consequently, any product used on the
AGV must offer ample EMC resistance in order to reliably work in the environment of large electromagnetic
fields. AGVs travel along pre-programmed paths that can be changed to address different
manufacturing demands. The absolute position of the AGV is determined by reading floormounted
tags. Using this information along with data concerning the goods carried by the AGV
allows the control system to create a simple lookup table so that the position of all products â on
and off the AGV â is always known. This method is also suitable to determine the position of forklifts,
cranes, skids, and similar material handling systems.
AGVs that can determine their position along their path are frequently used in logistics and manufacturing
environments. Determining the precise position of parked goods allows the AGV to
quickly find temporarily-parked goods.
Using absolute positioning allows the material handling process to be automated and the location
of both the goods and AGV to be tracked reliably throughout the plant.
